DJ Profit, founder and CEO of Elite Ops Exterminators, has a growth mindset that has pushed him past fear and adversity into a place where he found his WHY and a way to serve others.
He grew up in Wichita, Kansas and always had an entrepreneurial spirit but was unclear on what path to take to find success. While studying business atWichita State University he uncovered a desire to start his own company in the service industry. He looked at “dirty” jobs that would be essential but not something others would normally want to do themselves. He remembered, that even as a 7-year-old boy, his parents would wake him up at night to catch and remove the mice that would occasionally get in their kitchen and they were too afraid of (or grossed out by) to deal with.
So DJ worked as a pest control technician in Kansas, then moved to DC in 2007, and continued to work as a Pesticide Commercial Applicator. His education grew in the biology of pests and the different ways to control them from homes and businesses in different regions. His desire to start his own business was still there, so he set out to create a new brand of exterminators who perform at the highest tier of service and contain a great deal of knowledge, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Although pest control is a service job, DJ feels called to serve more than just the customers. He also intends to serve the individuals he hires and brings into the Elite Ops team. One of his goals is to help people close the gap between who they are and who they want to be. He strives to provide a work environment that stimulates an individual’s mind, strengthens their body, and gives them confidence to achieve their own goals while feeling proud of helping solve problems for others.
